Alcoa softball postponed to today ... and more

The District 3-AA softball tournament was postponed on Thursday due to rain in the area. The Gibbs-Seymour contest will be played at 4:30 p.m. today at Alcoa. The loser will then take on Alcoa around 30 minutes later, with the championship game following.

Sims signs with Brevard College

Heritage volleyball player Kari Sims has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Division II Brevard College. For the past four years, Sims has been a setter for the Lady Mountaineers. She was named to the 2006 and 2007 All-County teams and in 2007 was the District 4-AAA Setter of the Year. She also holds the Heritage assist career record with 2,056.
